At Gonville Academy, we follow a Systematic Synthetic Phonics Programme that begins in our Early Years and continues into KS1 and KS2 (where needed).
We teach grapheme phoneme recognition, sound blending and word level blending which develops early reading skills. Our phonics and early reading strategy moves seamlessly into our reading curriculum in KS1 &KS2, building on the key skills needed to be fluent and successful readers.
